After an injury-shortened season, Drift team rider and Red Bull sponsored, Josh Sheehan, made his way to Cockatoo Island in Sydney Harbour for the final stop of the Red Bull X Fighters Freestyle Motocross World Tour on October 10th 2012. Josh placed 1st in the final at this stop last year against the Kiwi, Levi Sherwood.
Despite the weather delaying the morning practice, the Aussie favourite came out all guns blazing with the double back flip and progressed to the semi-final against Levi Sherwood. He caught all the footage of his best run on his Drift HD helmet camera. Check out the Drift helmet cam footage and see what it looks like to land a double backflip here!
“The course was tight but fun with a lot of jump options,” said Sheehan. “The tricks being thrown down were amazing, from front flips and body varials to 540’s off the quarter pipe.”
The semi-finals seemed to be going smoothly for Sheehan, but unfortunately he crashed on his final trick of the run.
“I felt okay but unfortunately ended up crashing the final trick in my run, the ruler flip. I was happy with the 3rd place after a slow recovery from injury.”
Sheehan’s adrenaline filled final run included tricks such as the cliff hanger, cordova flip, lazyboy flip, ruler flip and the insane double back flip. We’d like to congratulate Josh Sheehan on his awesome run and for placing 3rd In the competition.
